Case Studies
Chickadee Restaurant
Seaport District
Restaurant Content Engine
Mediterranean-inspired. New England born. Chef John DaSilva, 21 Drydock Ave, Seaport.
The Problem
Chickadee is a critically acclaimed Seaport restaurant with a James Beard-nominated chef and a dining room that deserves to be seen. Their visual presence online didn't match the room. Beautiful food, beautiful space — content that looked like it was shot on a lunch break.
The Approach
Full art-directed shoot: hero food frames, ambient atmosphere, signature cocktails, and the dining room at golden hour. Built around 18 key frames with a parallel reel strategy — every image designed to stop the scroll and communicate "this is the kind of place you bring someone you want to impress."
Deliverables
"They came in prepared. The shot list was already built. We just had to show up and cook."
— Kayla, Chickadee
Barricaid
Corporate Event
Corporate Event Coverage
Medical device company. 100+ person company conference, full-day coverage.
The Problem
Barricaid needed conference coverage that didn't look like conference photography. The standard approach — harsh flash, stiff posed shots, forgettable team photos — wasn't going to work for a brand trying to signal innovation and credibility to investors and partners.
The Approach
Treated it like a documentary. Ambient light where possible. Candid moments between planned shots. Staged team photography that didn't look staged. 100+ people across a full day, organized and efficient. The goal: every frame usable for LinkedIn, investor decks, and the company website.
Deliverables
"We needed someone who could handle a large group without chaos. Desoto ran it like a production — smooth, fast, and the results were exactly what we needed."
— Barricaid Conference Team
Brooksy's Pizza
Boston
Restaurant Video Production
Independent pizzeria. Brand video to anchor their identity and drive foot traffic.
The Problem
Brooksy's had a loyal following but no compelling visual story to show new customers. In a city full of pizza options, "good pizza" isn't enough. They needed a video that communicated the feeling of the place — not just the product.
The Approach
Short-form brand video built around the craft and the personality of the shop. Dough prep, cheese pulls, the oven, the staff — shot to feel authentic and premium at the same time. The kind of video that makes someone stop scrolling, save it, and show their friends.
Deliverables
"The video captured exactly what we are. Customers started showing it to us and saying 'this is what made me come in.'"
— Brooksy's Pizza
